Rauni and Jingles

Rauni and I met at Joe Smith's Stable in New Brunswick, NJ when we were 12 years old. I had a retired 3-gaited horse named Sammy, and she had a little sorrel horse named Jingles. We rode all through New Brunswick together, even to Johnson Park to watch horseshows there. She was funny and kind and generous. I was fascinated by the "old mansion" she lived in. We thought we were so cool, smoking cigarettes and riding bareback all through that summer until my family moved. I thought of her often, and am so sorry to know that she is gone, but I bet she's back up on little Jingles once more.

Jim Diamond - a friend

Rauni's husband, Dave, and I work together at the Franklin Institute. She and I met from time to time at Institute affairs, such as the end-of-year Holiday party. Dave loved talking about magic and Rauni's horses. She was a really fun and lovely person. They obviously loved each other deeply, and I know she will be missed by all who knew her.
