A friend forever

When you lose a friend of more than 60 years, mere words seem inadequate. I will miss his sense of humor, his competitiveness, his warmth, and his intellect, not to mention someone who shared my political views. In short, I will miss him. My world is diminished without him being a part of it. My most heart-felt condolences to Betsy and the children, who I'm sure will miss him much more than I do.

As his younger cousin,I remember my cousin Anthony as always friendly, quiet spoken, generous and brilliant! Some of my fondest memories were when we would go to visit him,and my Dad and Anthonys' uncle,Joe Barone, would have marathon chess matches! It was like Fisher-Spassky! But they were incredibly close,as all of our family were, to Anthony, Donald and Uncle Tony and Aunt Ida.He ALWAYS struck me as all class. The world was richer for him being in it.

A True Colleague

Tony had a quiet presence, an ability to communicate with everyone, rejected corporate politics and usually had the right answer when there was a problem.

He did like books! We visited a used book store in the Twin Cities once and he & the owner talked for over an hour. If he'd made it out to see me in Portland we probably would have spent three days at Powell's!

Great source of book info

Tony will be missed. I always loved his book reviews and found them very much on target.

And his smile - wonderful! ~~so sad that his time on earth has ended.
