Old friend

Meagan and I were homeless at one point as teenagers. I made a promise early on that we would watch out for one another. We had some good talks over the years and crossed paths often. I had a nightmare about her passing several years ago and reached out to her to let her know that I still care about her. Hearing about her passing is really upsetting. I miss her so much!

These are words I said at Meagan's Memorial

The Day you left and gained your Wings my heart just broke in two.
I wish you could have stayed, but Heaven needed you.
I stand here and ponder how very much I’d like to talk with you today. There are so many things that we didn’t get to say. Growing up you weren’t perfect and could be challenging but you have blessed my life in so many ways and I will cherish our memories until the end of my days. I know how much you loved me and how much I love you.

You were a very special and nurturing person, with kindness in your heart and after reading so many comments on your Facebook about all the people you have helped. It amazes me you were able to do this while struggling with your own challenges and now realize how much you will be missed by many people.

You left me too soon and this was not part of my plan, but God’s plan always prevails. I know I cannot bring you back, although I wish it every day. A piece of me went with you the day you went away.
