 WALTER C FRIEDRICH

Walter C. Friedrich, 90, passed away on June 4th, 2021.  The son of two German immigrants, Walter was born in 1931 and raised in Philadelphia.  He attended Central High School and Temple University.  He served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean War, and was stationed in Alaska when it was a territory.

 

An early entrepreneur in the computer industry, Walter worked as a salesman for Hewlett Packard, then started his own computer timeshare business in Philadelphia.  He also founded Star-Byte, Inc., a software reproduction company, from which he retired. Friedrich also dabbled in acting and directing as a member of the Bucks County local theatre group Town and Country Players.

 

In his retirement in Nescopeck, Walter became passionate about horses and their care.  He was a strong proponent of natural horse care, and provided trimming services to dozens of horse owners.

 

Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia.  Born Patricia Fite in 1934 in Mauch Chunk, PA, Patricia was raised in Fox Chase, attended Little Flower High School, and married Walter in 1954. They spent most of their life together in Doylestown and Nescopeck, PA.  Patricia died in 2016 in Nescopeck.   

 

Walter is survived by his son Christopher Friedrich and his wife LaWanda, daughter Teresa Friedrich and her husband Timothy Mucklow, daughter Judith Ransford and her husband Edwin, son Karl Friedrich, and grandchildren Amanda, Tyler and Nicole Ransford and Laura Walcott.

 

He was predeceased by two children, Nancy and Eric Friedrich.

 

Service: Private services at the convenience of the family. Interment at the Plumsteadville Cemetery.
